Private Recap How it works

Use case

Investor call notes and board follow-ups, kept private

Fundraising and board calls are the conversations you would least like to find sitting in another company’s storage. They are also the ones with the longest tail of follow-up attached.

The calls you would rather keep close

An investor call contains your numbers, your pipeline and whatever you said when you were asked the hard question. A board call contains all of that plus the disagreements.

Handing those to a service that keeps them indefinitely is a choice worth making on purpose rather than by default.

Your audio, transcript and notes stay on your computer. The app goes online for three things only: the one-time model download, your account and billing if you choose to have one, and anonymous page counts.

The twenty minutes after an investor call

That is where the follow-through is usually lost. A recap hands you:

Board meetings and the follow-up nobody writes

Minutes are a job somebody is meant to do and frequently does not. A transcript is not minutes, but it is the thing minutes get written from, and it removes the usual excuse.

Decisions and owners come out as action items. Circulating those within a day is a small habit that makes the next meeting shorter.

For anything with legal weight, have your company secretary or your counsel write the formal record. This is a tool for the working follow-up, not a substitute for governance.

Numbers said out loud

Revenue, runway, a customer name, a term sheet detail. These get spoken on calls long before they appear in any document you would think to mark confidential.

A transcript is the same information in text. Keeping it on one machine is the simplest way to give it the care the document version would get.

What it costs before you have revenue

Free gives you five-minute recordings and one saved meeting, or three with a free account. That is enough to judge whether the notes are worth anything to you.

Free uploads are capped at five minutes, so a longer call you recorded elsewhere needs Pro, which removes the recording limit and takes files up to an hour or 200 MB.

One call, then decide

Record your next internal update, a standup or a founders’ sync, and read what comes back. If the action items are right on a call that does not matter, use it on the ones that do.

Try it on your next call

A pitch is easier to improve when you have the investor’s actual questions rather than your memory of them.

Record a meeting — free

Works in Chrome or Edge. The first recap downloads about 300 MB of models with the defaults, once. New to it? Read how it works first.
